I’ve discussed many times before the importance of blogging for an online company and what it can generate when it is well-taken care of. To give a feisty gist, blogging enables you to communicate with your clients personally thus increasing the chances of them engaging business transactions. However, what I failed to mention are the things that you have to consider before blogging. The highlighted words above signify the “why” of blogging in correlation to an online company. Having noticed my own flaw, I will, on this entry, list the “what” of blogging in correlation to blogging itself.

Taking your dog for a walk is very similar to blogging. You might have woken up one morning and decided to take your dog outside. Sudden and unwanted flashes are also similar to bloggers who have no dreams of being a blogger. An idea just came to them, as simple as that. Having taken your breakfast, you cannot just leash your dog and start the marathon outside. You have to evaluate the weather, your other commitments, your condition and of course, your dog. Whether you’re feeling very energetic about running, you have to be rational by considering many other factors. Same rules actually apply to blogging. A sudden flush of itch to blog won’t make your blogs successful. As much as rereading and proofreading your words re important in our business, so is the decision weighing if blogging is really a smart idea.

Mistake me not, blogging is an excellent idea. One simply needs a couple of stuffed stuff in his/her head and everything is now ready to go.

Even the most read book, The Bible, finds trouble in terms of readership because of spiritual faction.

First and foremost, learn, define and understand the audience you’re writing to. Yes, people on all walks of life may come and visit your blog but that doesn’t make closer to success. In Philippine SEO, it is better to have a higher Average Visit Duration (the amount of time that readers spend on your site) than the Bounce Rate (the percentage of readers leaving your site without interaction).

  1. Do not despair

If you’re a socialite seeking to brush boredom away through blogging, audience will be aplenty. Personal bearings on social media can have a dramatic impact in a blog site. If, however, you are a businessman, employee, or a regular Joe aiming to promote your business through blogging, the ascent could be very slow. For the first few months, or even years, audience will come bits by bits. A very typical scenario.

  1. Be good with it

Face it: you can’t expect thousands of readers every week without honing your craft to perfection. Harsh as it may sound, this third item is the only item that separates the thin line between spammers and bloggers. Without coherence, purpose, and details, a blog site can easily be mistaken as a spam, theoretically speaking, in the internet.

Luckily, the beauty of blogging allows a starting blogger to grow and bloom. This activity actually does not differ from any other stuff out there; all it needs is a little passion and real interest. Read some blogs and be inspired. There is no shame on trying other blogger’s style and adapting to yours.

Trust me, it gets easier the minute you finished all the other four above. All hard work leads to eventual success, anyway.
